Search Notebooks from Other Applications
Search notebooks from other applications--say, to find research while writing a report or to look
up an email address from the Mail application. Select a notebook to search just this once, or set
up a search service for a notebook you search frequently. As with clipping services, NoteTaker
doesn't have to be running.
1
From any application that uses services, select what you want to search for.
2
Open the application's Services menu and choose NoteTaker > Find in notebook. In
the panel that opens, select a notebook, section, or page to search, and click Open.
3
If you search the same notebook frequently, create a search service for it: Open the
notebook and choose Tools > NoteTaker Services > Create Search Service for
"Notebook Name"
. You can then search that notebook directly by choosing the search
service from an application's Services menu.
Choose Find in
Notebook from the
application's Service's
menu to open a panel
for selecting any
notebook, section, or
page to search
If you search a notebook
frequently, create a search
service for it, and it
appears in the
application's Services
menu, too
While writing a report in
another application, such
as TextEdit, select text you
want to find in a notebook
