Automate Workflow with AppleScript
Automate workflow in amazingly powerful ways using the wide array of NoteTaker's custom
AppleScript
commands. With a single command, perform mega Web searches on a selected
word or phrase and copy top results to your notebook. Display today's iCal schedule in your To
Do list. Export a voice memo to iTunes, record a meeting video in iSight, or similarly exchange
data with many other popular applications and devices, including email programs, your iPod,
the Palm desktop, and more. Run Applescript commands from a menu, or insert them as buttons
or text links directly in your outline.
To run a script that acts on a text selection--for example, to perform a mega Web
search on a phrase in your outline--select the phrase. Then choose the appropriate
script from either the Scripts menu, or from the Scripts list in your toolbar.
If you don't see the Scripts menu, go to NoteTaker's General preferences and check
the Include AppleScript menu option to make the menu appear.
To attach a script to a picture or text link in your outline (a script that doesn't act on a
selection), select the picture or text. Then open the Create Hyperlink panel (Edit >
Create Hyperlink), click the Scripts button in the panel, choose the script you want to
attach, and click Link to Script.
