Add Text Annotations (Footnotes) & Endnotes
Insert pop-up text annotations in your outline that readers can view without leaving the page or
having to scroll. This feature is perfect for embedding references, citations, or footnotes. Display
the annotation using NoteTaker's X-Ray Info Box
TM
. Also view them as endnotes on a separate
page in the notebook's Annotations section. You can insert an annotation as an auto-numbered
link, using your own link naming scheme, or as a regular text link.
1
Click in your outline where you want to insert the annotation's link, or select text in
the outline to be the source of the link.
2
Choose Edit > Create Hyperlink (or click the Hyperlink tool in the toolbar). Then click
the Annotation button in the Create Hyperlink panel.
3
Type your annotation in the panel. Display the ruler (View > Ruler) to add text
formatting. Also drag in any pictures you want to include.
4
If you're inserting a link, select "Insert Annotation Number" to insert an auto-
numbered link (1, 2, 3, etc.). Or, select "Insert Text" and either type custom link-text
(such as "more"), or choose an existing custom link from the list. Then click the Link
to Annotation button.
5
In your outline, hold down the Option and Shift keys while mousing over the link to
see the pop-up annotation.
